Hi [Crunchy-ish] Mamas
Thanks for stopping by, I am so happy you're here. I am a [crunchy-ish] mama of two littles, who's lucky enough to have (fairly recently) juggled things in a way which allows me to be home full time with my little precocious angels, for now. Do my kids have any screen time, no. Will they one day, I am sure. Do they eat white sugar? Uh-uh. Will they one day, yes. Do I fancifully dream of freshly baked sourdough and crispy homemade fishy crackers, chickens, gardens and home-schooling a gaggle? Uh-huh. Am I capable of the patience, tenderness, emotional stability and let's face it, sheer bravery such an act of anarchy (what else could it be?!) requires? Mmmm, I doubt it. Do I strive for knowledge on how to keep my family safest, healthiest, and most content? Everyday. Do I dream of a day my home may be a place that's free of toxins and plastic? Sure, who wouldn't? Am I anywhere near that, no. Am I in favor of medical freedom, yup. Did I deliver my babes in the hospital, with meds? Yes, ma'am. Do I put onions and garlic in socks...well I haven't yet, but don't put it past me! Whether you are a seasoned [crunchy-ish] mama, a brand new [crunchy-ish], a just discovering your [crunchy-ish] inclinations mama, a working [crunchy-ish] mama, or a stay-at-home [crunchy-ish] mama, a [crunchy-ish] mama barley hangin' in there or or a [crunchy-ish] mama with all her [crunchy-ish] little ducks in a row, I am looking forward to carving out this path with you! Teach me your ways [crunchy-ish] mamas. I can't wait to learn and be inspired by you!
Let's do this thing together.
A Tid-Bit More
I've lived in Springfield, Oregon for about 3 years now and I really like it. As a Southern California transplant (I know, I know, but I did not come here with any money so it's not my fault!) during the dark times (2020), pre marriage and pre babies my life as I know it now is vastly different than that of my previous sunset chasing, California dreamin' days. I am vastly different. As I've transitioned to this phase of my life, I am in complete awe of the beauty and abundance of love, hope, transformation and a capacity for such immense joy and contentment that life can generate. I know that this life I love (don't get me wrong, and sometimes excruciatingly difficult) would not have had the opportunity to grow in my previous life.
I am so grateful my husband and I decided to leave California for a new beginning. Born, raised and running amok in one place meant, I had established a pretty great tribe. As I discover who I am now and pour my energy into being her, I find my interests, ambitions and even tendencies (thank the ever-loving Universe) have changed. How do we go from making best friends in the bar bathroom, to creating space for meaningful relationships to develop in this new life?
I am not entirely sure. I have found, through my children - via things like park visits and Facebook groups, a few amazing friendships that I am so grateful to have. I think that when we create intentional space to hear each other and honestly share with each other we make space for those soul fulfilling relationships to bloom. This is my hope for the work I'm pouring into this little New Year's resolution, which has turned into so many ducks! I hope that with this blog, focused on local-ish things (and frankly, the things that interest me!), and the Springfield [Crunchy-ish] Mamas Facebook Group I can help foster a place where tribes can be formed and an appreciation for our beautiful city nurtured. Thanks for joining me, friends.
My Gut Health Story
I truly believe I have found my missing link!!! For years I struggled with just not feeling great. And freaking Lord knows it was not for lack of trying, motivation, ambition, or effort. My husband and I were doing everything right and still collectively we were dealing with:
Fatigue
Exhaustion
Anxiety
Overwhelm
Overstimulation
Brain Fog
Moodiness
Morning Rage
Dizzy Spells
Stubborn Weight
Poor Lab Results
Low Labido
Dull Skin
Sugar Cravings
We had left our old insanely unhealthy ways behind. We said goodbye to drinking and binge partying,
2 AM drive through runs. We ate clean, limited sugar, got sleep, moved our bodies. We took a plethora of supplements, tried acupuncture, nutritionists, massage, herbal remedies and too many to count, ever promising magic pills and detoxes to just feel better. Two babes and years later we still felt like we were somehow missing the mark. We felt like we should be THRIVING not barely SURVIVING!
Through my [Cruncyh-ish] mama instagram I was introduced to a mama living her best life and totally thriving. I was drawn to her immediately. I watched story after story of her sharing about her "mocktails", "pink drink" and gut health supplements. Honestly, I rolled my eyes. Hacks didn't work. Magic pills, magic drinks... in our experience they just didn't work.
My husband was diagnosed with fatty liver disease. Seriously?! After all this effort!?
Shortly after that, he found a mass in his testicle.
It was weeks before we knew what would be the plan and weeks from there before we knew what we were dealing with. He felt tired, whipped out, fatigued, was having brain fog and a dull mood. Not really anything new but it all felt exemplified.
Lisa had been sharing so many amazing health benefits her regiment offered including liver support. So, finally in this limbo and desperation I reached out. Pink drink this, pink drink that, I bypassed her recommendation for me and went straight to the detox system for my husband and was definitely not interested in a pink drink that was surely full of yucky dyes and sugars.
She dropped samples for me shortly after. She said, "you deserve this mama! Take this drink 3 days and just tell me how you feel." and HOLY SHIT, I KID YOU NOT the VERY FIRST DAY I was shocked. Immediately, my mood perked up, I slept like a baby and I woke up HAPPY. So I began my deep dive. Because that is who I am. I could not, in good conscience, take something every day that was harmful to my body or my babies ( I was still breast feeding) EVEN IF it made me feel as amazing and balanced as this did. In fact, I was probably more skeptical at that point! There has GOT to be sugar in here! I thought!!! But as I researched the products and the company I learned, there isn't and it's colored with beet juice!
So my husband had to cut his detox short for the removal of his testicle. He got three weeks in and his results physically were incredible. It looked like he lost a layer of bloat around his whole body and inches from his waist! He was feeling so much better too! He picked up when he could and finished the detox. He had blood work shortly after that and his fatty liver disease was GONE. We were shocked. He's since, been consistently on the pivotal gut health system.
In the meantime, I had ordered the gut health system for myself and started my pink drink journey!!! Just a couple weeks in someone asked me what I was doing and had my husband noticed, they said I was glowing and looked so happy! I went through a brief detox period and since then have been experiencing such amazing results I can't help but share with EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!
Who doesn't want more:
Sustainable Energy
Increased, More Stable Mood
Better Sleep
NO MORE MORNING RAGE
More Patience
More Smiling and Laughing
8 Pounds - GONE
GLOWING Skin
Stronger Nails
More Good Hair Days (Curls Post Partum are Hard!)
Increased Labido
Brain Clarity
Less Anxiety
Less Overstimulation
Increased Healthy Cravings
No More Sugar Cravings
Increased Desire for Movement
Normal Range Labs
I've since learned so much about the importance of the foundational health that addressing our gut health plays in our overall health and happiness and I just can't go back. Know better, do better. Address gut health, improve your overall life.
Not to mention the community side of this thing and the impact I am having on my families future by sharing these benefits! Helping my friends, family and other mamas (and everyone!) FINALLY feel like they too are THRIVING has been such a joyous journey. I am incredibly thankful for our health and to have found the missing link between SURVIVING and THRIVING! I would be so honored if you shared with me your health goals and I could help you feel like your best self! Please feel free to message me, email me or chat with me in person about wanting to THRIVE, we ALL deserve this!!!!
Let's do this thing together, too.

Three Weeks!
